A thatched house, originally two cottages for farm workers, dating from the 17th century. The house is set in the middle of a garden that is two thirds of an acre. There are views from all sides of the house to open fields with horses or arable land dotted with woods. A large grass area to the west of the house was left to grow long in 2019 and happily many wildflowers appeared. The trees in the small apple orchard, bordering the long grass, are covered in blossom in spring with cowslips flourishing below. There are mixed borders to the front, back and east side of the house with a succession of bulbs, perennials and early flowering shrubs including a prolific Rosa ‘Canary Bird’ under planted with a tapestry of primroses – Primula vulgaris, Pulmonarias, hardy geraniums, colourful Cornus stems, flowering currants and Alliums.
